The short answer

Choose myuser.ai if you want replays alongside automatic email and SMS followup. Look at Clarity for free replay and heatmap analysis, or Lucky Orange for a wider behavior toolkit. Compare recording limits, controls, and your exact store setup before choosing.

Pick the job you need. These are documented features, not scores from a hands-on contest. Prices below are monthly USD terms checked September 14, 2026. Daily and monthly limits are different; do not treat them as the same allowance.

Replays + shopper followup

myuser.ai

Free Capture: base allowance of 3 recordings a day, with a 7-day viewing window.

Launch: $49/month. Base allowance of 200 recordings a day and a 30-day viewing window. The plan includes email, SMS, and forms with their own limits. Saved/starred replays start on Scale.

Fits a merchant who wants to review visits and have automatic followups in the same app. Do not assume the recorder covers the full hosted checkout.

Free behavior analysis

Microsoft Clarity

Free session replays, heatmaps, and AI summaries. Standard playback lasts 30 days; labeled or favorited sessions can be kept for 9 months.

Fits a shop that mainly wants to inspect page use. This is a different job from myuser.ai's automatic email and SMS sending. Recording coverage still depends on setup, consent, and documented limits.

A dedicated behavior toolkit

Lucky Orange

Shopify Free: 100 sessions a month. Launch: $19/month for 500 sessions. Both list 30-day storage. Discovery AI is a paid add-on on the listed paid plans.

Fits a shop that wants replays, heatmaps, funnels, and surveys. Visual checkout replay is documented for Shopify Plus; ordinary checkout events are not a video of checkout.

Both Clarity and Lucky Orange offer AI analysis. myuser.ai's useful distinction here is having replays alongside automatic shopper followup. It is not the only app with AI.

When myuser.ai is the useful choice

Start with myuser.ai's session replay features if you also want help with shopper followups. You can filter recorded visits by products, carts, signups, email clicks, text clicks, and known visitors. Watch a live visit, change playback speed, or skip idle time.

For a known visitor, a replay can connect to customer and message history. That helps with a question like “Did this shopper come back from our email, then add the blue mug?” It does not identify every visitor.

myuser.ai's automatic email and SMS uses products, visits, carts, and orders to decide, write, schedule, and send followups. You choose designs, offers, and channels. The replay and the sending tools serve different jobs; a replay alone is not permission to send a message.

Use myuser.ai signup forms to let shoppers share details, and cart followup for known shoppers who qualify. Look inside myuser.ai before choosing a plan.

What is a customer session recording?

A session replay shows clicks, taps, scrolls, and page changes from a recorded visit. The app builds a replay from events on your store. It is not a camera recording, and it does not show the shopper's whole computer.

You may see someone open a size guide, add a shirt to a cart, then leave. You still do not know why they left. They may have hit a fault, had a price question, or just needed to go.

A Shopify merchant asking about carts but no sales also struggled to read odd replay behavior. That is a useful question, not proof of a bad store or bad traffic.

Check what the app captures

Use made-up details in a test visit. Open your forms and account pages. Watch the replay. Check what is hidden and what is visible before you rely on the settings.

myuser.ai masks inputs by default, with exceptions for some myuser.ai signup and game fields and fields marked to record clearly. Do not assume every typed value is hidden. Read myuser.ai's privacy details and check your store's setup.

Clarity has masking modes and page controls. Lucky Orange documents input masking and optional logging in its service terms. With any app, check consent settings, who can view recordings, and how long they remain available. Masking alone does not settle all privacy duties.

Watch with one question in mind

Start with a small job: “Can phone users open my size guide?” Choose a few visits on phones that reached that product. Skip idle time. Note the page and time of the action.

Write what you saw first. “Three taps on the size guide” is a fact in the replay. “The shopper hated the size guide” is a guess.

Try the control on the same kind of phone. Check customer questions. If it is broken, fix it. If it works, look for more clues. Our five-session watch sheet keeps facts, guesses, and checks apart. Five is a short work batch, not a sample that proves a cause.

Turn one clue into a useful fix

Say shoppers keep opening your shipping page from the cart. Your guess is that delivery is unclear. Check the cart on a phone and read recent shipping questions. Then add the missing facts where buyers need them.

For eligible shoppers who leave, myuser.ai can help with the cart followup. It cannot fix a broken button or make a delivery promise true.

Watch the same step after a change and keep the dates. Use order counts too. If traffic is light, the zero-sales checker helps put a small sample in context.
